Stop Motion Animation Research and Examples

I found these examples of stop motion animations which i believe are high quality and very imaginatively done.

Figurative Artist Research

Stop-Motion Animation

My stop motion animation starts at 0:13 seconds into the video and lasts roughly 3 seconds. It is of a lizard eating a butterfly. I did this by tkaing a photograph and then moving my images slighly on the page, then taking another photo when it had moved. This was repeated over and over until we got the final scene and the last photo was took.

Creature Artwork

This was done by using oil pastel for the leaf background and then using stick and ink for the spider image. I just used light feint lines with the stick to create the effect of hairs on it back and legs.

This image of a beatle was created using charcoal and white paper. I just smudged off the parts that was suppost to be shiny or reflective and then used darker tones on the parts of the beatle with more depth. I believe this to be one of my strongest pieces and one i enjoyed the most.

This page was done with mainly pencil to create the effects of feathers on the wings and also the butterfly wings and body was done in pencil so that i could add depth and tone to the body, as well as slight shadows on the wings. I also used biro pen on the beatle to show the different tones of it.

This is my artist research which i have used to refer to and used to draw and gain inspiration from. I collected a wide range of insects and bird images.

These individual insects part drawings were done in biro pen.

These 2 images where both done on parcel paper to give them and antique or ages type effect.

This was my clay modelling work which i really enjoyed. I sculpted my own hybrid creature/animal from modelling clay. I used a crafting knife to give the effect of hairs on the animals body and ears.

This painting of part of a bee (between the body and wing) was done using water colours. I chose water colours so that i could create the transparency on the wings of the bee. Water colours were also good to use for the body of the bee due to the fact that i could get the look of small hairs on its body as well as the correct colour i wanted.

Examples of Animation

This is an animaion made by Paramount and Nickalodeon. This focuses on an animation of a lizard.

This is an animation which is done by modelling clay and using stop motion animation techniques.
